Looking forward to this season!

Friday Night
It’s now the weekend and gladly welcomed after a long week in the office.  Since a friend is in town, I actually had plans this Friday evening.  It took awhile for the four of us to decide on a place to dine at, Bianca, which meant last minute planning and no reservations for a Friday night, again. To our unexpected dismay, we waited two hours to be seated for dinner.  Two hours passed by...

Who Should Top Chef’s Kevin Gillespie Be for... →
OMG I am dying right now.  I love Top Chef and it’s one of the few shows on TV that I follow regularly.  The cooking this season has definitely been impressive and a different league from past seasons. It’s no secret that I’ve been crushing on the Voltaggio brothers.  Hi Michael, loving you overall, though you could use a new voice.  Hi Bryan, you’re not too bad either,...

Google Voicemail
Just got my first Google voicemail now!  It was kind of cool getting a series of SMS messages, but it really didn’t make much sense since what was transcribed was kind of garbled up.  But it was REALLY cool being able to listen to it from my Gmail inbox on my laptop!  But why doesn’t it recognize the # from my contact list?

Basic Salsa
Tonight I concluded my 4 weeks of basic Salsa class at Sandra Cameron Dance Center.  I’ve been meaning to learn Salsa for awhile now, but it’s always been something I’ve put off.  But in October, I finally buckled down and signed up for one of their beginners class. It’s been so much fun.  I can’t tell you how much I look forward to the one hour classes each week. ...

Disqus Comments
I’ve enabled commenting here.  I think it’s working.  At least it works when I try.  The recommended way to enable commenting is by incorporating Disqus with Tumblr, so that’s what I’ve done here. I’m not exactly sure if you need to create a Disqus account to comment, or if you’re able to just comment.  Let me know. Talk to me!

Date Night in New York - White Table Cloths Are... →
“casual is the new sophisticated; paper napkins and communal tables are the new standard.” I totally agree with this article, but, well, wasn’t it already kind of obvious?  Or am I just assuming too much and this explains why I’m single, and why my Mom says I’m too picky? I definitely like when a guy picks a good restaurant for a first date.  Actually, I prefer...

MILKMADE scream
Tonight was a fun night.  I got to help out a friend in doing some informal market research and business planning for her new venture, MILKMADE scream.  MILKMADE is homemade, hand delivered ice cream in downtown NY.  But on top of that, it’s also local, seasonal, and tries to be organic when possible.  They source their quality ingredients from local suppliers such as Ronnybrook Farm Dairy...

NY Cell Phone Law
Did you know this?  I thought you just needed a headset, but it looks like you can’t even use a headset while you drive. What is the law on cell phone use while you operate a vehicle in NYS? New York State has a law that does not allow you to use a hand-held mobile telephone while you drive. If you use a hand-held mobile telephone while you drive, except to call 911 or to contact medical,...

Is Google Evil?
Google is seriously taking over all aspects of my online communication.  Search (was Yahoo!) Gmail (was Hotmail) Maps (was Mapquest) Gtalk (was AIM) Reader (was individual site browsing) Wave (new to me) Voice (was AT&T) Now I just need to switch over to Chrome and Picasa for the take over to be complete.  But I doubt either will be happening.  I heart Flickr too much (besides,...

Now Use Google Voice With Your Existing Phone... →
I’ve held off on getting a Google Voice # for two reasons: Couldn’t find a 917, 646, 415, 510, 718 or even 347 number Didn’t want to have to forward a new # to all my contacts. But today Google Voice now lets you set up a limited version of Google Voice to your existing #.   While there are limitations, I see two big advantages for me: Visual voicemail.  I really like the...

GeoCities Closes Tomorrow: Goodbye, Old Friend →
According to this, GeoCities is shutting down today.  Good bye memory from the past.  I, like many others, used GeoCities to host the very first itiration of my website back in 1997 or 98.  This was when I was taking a stone age HTML class in college.  Amazing how much has changed in the last few years.

@EdwardNorton
I’m not really the type of person to be infatuated with something or someone.  But if there was one celebrity that I had to be even slightly obsessed with, it’s Ed Norton.  Now he’s working on a project, Maasai Marathon, to raise money to support the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.  He and a group will be running the NY Marathon on November 1 (one week from today).  To...

CC
My sister’s dog passed away last night.  CC has been sick with cancer for awhile.  I last saw her when I was visiting back in July and she had a bad limp.  Apparently the cancer manifested into an extremely large tumor on her hind leg and she’s basically been incapacitated and heavy on painkillers the last few months. Over the weekend, they took her to the vet to have her leg...

Puzzle
I’m working on an intense puzzle.  This is totally random and the best part is that my friend bought the exact same piece the night before!  Brooklyn Bridge with downtown Manhattan (WTC included) at night.  But 2000 pieces seems to be much more difficult than I anticipated.

Lunch Time Eavesdropping
I had lunch at a restaurant by myself on Sunday.  Sitting down to a meal by myself, at a restaurant (not café or fast food), is a first for me.  This was fine and not that big of a deal since I had a book and decided to pretend read for the duration of my meal.  Unfortunately, it was only pretend read.  I realized I could not help but overhear the entire conservation to my right.  And...

Post Processing
It’s been a month since I returned from a very beautiful vacation to Argentine Patagonia.  I’m a bit of an amateur enthusiast when it comes to photography so I came back with over 16GB of images.  I also shot in RAW for the first time. The first two weeks after I got back, were spent post-processing a “select” 200 or so images in Aperture.  Another first time.  I actually...

New York, I Love You
New York, yes I do love you, but this post is prompted by the release of Emmanuel Benbihy’s latest anthology film devoted to my city - New York, I Love You. Awhile back I had read a preview for this film and it summed it up instead of being a collection of love stories, but as a love story to New York.  Needless to say, I was eager to see the film.  And an all star cast to boot. These...

Blog Action Day
I hadn’t planned on contributing to this until I had the chance to sit down and create a new design for this site.  But apparently today is the third annual Blog Action Day and this years topic is climate change.  A few of the major blogs that are participating this year include Mashable, The White House and Google. I figured I’d do my part and post a few words about how I try to...
